A lovely place to walk and explore. Perfect for dog walks and to let children burn some energy!
We run 5 dogs off lead here, they love it and so do we. Meet loads of friendly people. No danger from roads to worry about. No animals other than the wildlife. Can picnic with tables in a couple of places. Ample parking space with small charges. Toilets, cafe and miniature ride on railway certain Sundays, see web for details. Thor's Rock and a well stocked lake.
Beautiful place, shame about the dog owners. Both times I've been I've been acosted by untrained dogs and stepped in dog poo. The owners should be more considerate and pick up after their dogs, in fact, keep them on leads. It's a public park to be enjoyed not a dog toilet.
Lovely big park with easy enough walkways, fields, trees and rocks. It even has a railway but it's just got 1 station so don't try and get the train over. There's also a pond and a few cafe's and it's worth taking your camera for some of the views!!
What a great place, lots of routes to take your dog and kids for a walk. I was pleased to see that on the main paths we did not come across any dog mess, though in going to clean up after my own dog just off the path I stepped into some left behind by another dog walker so you do need to be careful. It costs a couple of pounds to park your car but I did not think that was too harsh compared to other places.
