Clean,fresh pleasant place on first impressions so alls good!. And still alls good and cleaning/morning staff are friendly and helpful too.
Friendly and very helpful staff but very old building that requires refurbishment. Mould in the room and bathroom, not worth the money you pay.
I had a lovely stay here last weekend, and was pleased with all aspects of my time there. Rating this 5 stars is as a travel hotel facility, not a luxury hotel, so obviously there's no mini bar, fruit bowl or spa and robes! I stayed here with a family member for a surprise party locally, and wanted somewhere warm, comfortable, quiet at night, and a decent breakfast. The Royal Oak did not disappoint with the breakfast (special mention to Adene who made me feel very welcome and was very helpful overall). The room was what I would expect, and I must say the en-suite was clean and spacious, and the bed was genuinely comfortable. Definitely a good place to stay to tour the hidden delights of The Wirral (especially Ness Botanical Gardens), and I will stay again if in the area.
Compared to most Premier Inns this is average. Ok for one night but I wouldn't stop for any longer. The rooms need refurbishing. Mould around the bath, loose taps and a cracked toilet. More electrical sockets are required in the room. The overall cleaning needs attention. The staff are friendly and the adjoining Hungry Horse is great.
