I expected an afternoon all about Sunlight soap but everything about life in a pretty unique village was covered. I was totally immersed in a bygone age and learned so much as did my grandchildren, one who is 12 and autistic and the other who is 5 and inquisitive. The museum caters for every age with plenty to do, see and read. We visited the house next door which I loved. My husband said it smelled like his nan's house and to my delight it was filled with many things my grandmother owned, from a mangle to a little pot of rouge on the dressing table. A nice little gift shop, great value admission charge and spotless toilets are other plusses not forgetting the location. All in all a must see.

very informative with a lot of local information. Great insight into Port Sunlight and Lord Leverhulme. Good tea room and shop. Sells the Sunlight soap too.

Loved this fascinsting museum. It's only small, but it's a little gem. Pears soap in shop is very pricey compared with regular retail price but you can also buy the soap which was used in the first-class cabins on the Titanic which makes a nice token gift.

Port Sunlight is an amazing place, beautiful and historic, but in an unusual way. When visiting the museum, be sure to view the 10-minute video about its history and residents. And take the self-guide walking tour with a map booklet from the ticket office. Will worth the visit!

4 stars for the museum & walking tour by John, despite pouring rain! Interesting, beautiful village. Minus one star for the fact that the website advertises an Afternoon Tea & doesn't state you have to book. Arrived after planning our day's meals around the idea of Afternoon Tea to find that it requires booking (but no details online or in the museum). We contacted the manager & she was very nice about it & will change the website with more details!
